April

8th – Brenchley Gardens – Maidstone – Medieval toys and games and crime and punishment trials, run as part of this medieval fayre. Free event.

22/23 Wrest Park – St George’s Day – Medieval toys and games to play. As part of a larger event.

May/June

27 May – 4 June – Audley End House – Kings & Queens – Coronation event. Learn about the kings and queens on the penny through time. Be crowned king or queen for the day and take home a certificate. Storytelling throughout the day.

10-11 June – Scout camp, Northamptonshire – Private event. Medieval toys and games.

July/August

22- 30 July – Battle Abbey – Come along and play with some medieval toys & games.

31 July – 6 August – Battle Abbey – Scribe school. Come and have a go using a quill pen. Learn to write gothic script. Hear about the strange creatures found in medieval manuscripts. Young visitors not old enough to write can colour in a dragon.

15-17 – Carisbrooke Castle – Knights Tournament – Scribe School. Another chance to have a go at using a real feather quill pen. Come and watch the knights do battle.

21-25 – Dover Castle – Medieval Surgery & Medicine – Learn about the horrors of medieval surgery and medicine – arrow extractions, tooth pulling, amputations and live leeches! Mix up a medieval medicine.

27/28 – Audley End House & Gardens – Victorian toys and games – Come along and play with our Victorian toys and games as part of this Victorian Horse event.

21-29 – Audley End House & Gardens – 17th century witch trials – Be put on trial for various 17th century witch related crimes. Print your own witch protection mark.

Father Christmas is coming to Audley End House this year. Come join him to hear a festive tale and receive a traditional present. On the following dates: 2/3, 9/10, 16/17, 20/23.
